(Bo Tai Chanh) Rare beef in lime juice salad, its name has already told how to make this dish. Beef tenderloin is cut into really thin slices then use acid in lemon to make the beef half cooked half raw. Ingredients for bo tai chanh recipe:

  • 100g of soft beef cut into thin slices
  • 3 lemons for lemonade ( about ¾ cup of lemonade)
  • Half of a big onion
  • Half cup of fried peanut
  • Half cup of fried onion
  • Shrimp chip
  • Chili

Instructions for making bo tai chanh recipe:

Step 1: First of all, you have to cut the beef into thin slices and marinate them in a mixture of spices: 1 tsp of monosodium glutamate, ½ tsp of salt, 2 tbsp of sugar, ½ tsp of grinded pepper, lemon juice of 2 and a half lemons. Then you mix them up evenly and wait for 20 minutes to the beef become rare.

Step 2: Prepare ½ of sliced onion in a big bowl, add 2 tbsp of lemonade, 2 tbsp of sugar, ½ tsp of salt then mix well.

Add rare beef into the bowl (decant water from mixture of marinated beef ). Mix well with prepared sliced onion in the previous step (decant water from onion). Add chopped coriander, fried shallot then mix evenly.

Step 3: Add fried peanut( you can pestle the peanut or not) and sliced chili.

Rare beef in lime juice salad can be eaten as a kind of salad-like Vietnamese dishes which tastes slightly sour, a bit of spicy and the beef is soft with crispy peanut and aromatic smell of fried onion. Moreover, eating Rare beef in lime juice salad with shrimp chips is fascinating.
